Streisand concert cancelled in Detroit, Michigan.
Meanwhile, Detroit-area fans will have to do some traveling if they hope to catch Babs live, as the tour's promoter has pulled the plug on her Oct. 18 show at The Palace of Auburn Hills, citing "lagging response" on the part of potential ticket-buyers in that market. Ticketmaster will automatically refund credit-card transactions, and those who purchased tickets with cash can obtain a refund at the point of purchase, according to a press release. (Ticketmaster is LiveDaily's parent company.)
"We apologize to the dedicated Barbra Streisand fans in Detroit who had purchased tickets, but it was impossible not to accommodate the extraordinary demand in Toronto," promoter Michael Cohl of Concert Productions International said in a statement.
Fans who purchased tickets for the Detroit show via Ticketmaster.com should receive via email a link through which they can access a block of tickets set aside for alternate shows in Toronto and Columbus, OH, according to CPI. Those who purchase tickets to one of the alternate shows will also get some help making the journey.
"Detroit fans who wish to purchase tickets for either of the alternative performances will receive an $85 credit to cover their transportation to Columbus or Toronto," Cohl said. "We are truly sorry for any inconvenience."
Streisand has gone on tour to raise funds for various charitable organizations.
