The Fall Season, New Seasons, Others End
It's that favorite time of year. Brisk days, light winds, leaves changing colors, smell of woodburning as folks start their fireplaces, and harvest. Just as the MLB Season ends and the MLB Playoffs start, other sporting events are just beginning to begin.
The NHL Season Kicked Off and started it's 2006-2007 campaign on October 4th.
The Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricans opened the season at home with a Championship Ceremony, but lost to Buffalo 3 to 2 in overtime.
On June 20, 2006, the Miami Heat earned their 2006 championship. On October 31st, the Miam Heat will finally get their rings before they take on Ben Wallace and the Chicago Bulls as the NBA Season opens it's 2006-2007 season.
NASCAR ends it's Season on November 19th, 2006 - with it's last race of the year in Miami, the Ford 400. The Top 3 drivers so far to date are, Jeff Burton, Denny Hamlin (-69), Mark Martin (-70).
The PGA Tour ends on November 5th, 2006 with it's last event in Atlanta, GA with the Tour Championship at the East Lake Golf Club. The remaining events are the Michelin Championship (Las Vegas), Funai Classic (Walt Disney Orlando), and the Chrysler Championship (Palm Harbor, Fl).
PGA Tour Money Leaders for this year are Tiger Woods ($ 9.9 Million), Jim Furyk ($ 6.4 Million), Phil Mickelson ($ 4.2 Million), Geoff Qqilvy ($ 4.2 Million) and Vijay Singh ($ 4.1 Million).
