Red Sox Single Game Ticket Sales

Single-game tickets for most Red Sox games will go on sale this Saturday at 10 a.m., according to a press release from the team. You can buy them online or by the internet.

The maximum amount of tickets you an purchase per person is 8 tickets.

They can be purchased by calling (617) 482-4SOX or by going to redsox.com

Better get them before they are sold out, Red Sox tickets are hot commodities and sell for more than market value once they are sold out at the main ticket offices.

TicketsNow is being acquired by TicketMaster

As with any new year, speculations arise about what next business will be acquired to strenghten another company's product offering. There is always speculations and then there is the actual transactions that take place. One major blockbuster was when eBay acquired Stubhub and now there is another blockbuster in the works which will make this aftermarket ticket company an even more exciting industry-changing alliance.

TicketsNow has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Ticketmaster.

Their consolidated strengths will create great opportunities to sell more tickets and each company the tools to achieve long-term growth and success. Combining TicketsNow's strong resale network with Ticketmaster's distribution capabilities will enable TicketsNow to set a new standard for resale by providing unsurpassed reliability, security, and convenience.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of of 2008, and upon closing TicketsNow will be an independently operated, wholly owned subsidiary of Ticketmaster. The current executive team will remain in place and continue to lead TicketsNow's operations offices in Rolling Meadows and Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Ticketmaster has been trying to get a foothold on the ticket aftermarket for a long time but it's ticket auctions and aftermarket operation hasn't had great success. People that sell tickets at Ticketmaster's reseller market would often see there tickets go unsold or sell at a lower premium than they wanted.

There are only a few ticket resellers that have a strong name in the marketplace of selling hard to get, sold out and front row tickets. Once these premium tickets are sold at face value, there are several factors that make these ticket prices skyrocket like hot cakes. The location of the seats and who the performer is, sometimes its the date of the event - broadway shows sell for a higher price near the holidays. But tickets for the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and Hannah Montana can double in price in the aftermarket once the show is sold out.

Def Leppard Concert Schedule for 2008

DEF LEPPARD, Britains greatest arena rock band, is set to play a series of headline shows in spring of 2008 — as part of a 2008 World Tour. This year's outing includes 19 dates, kicking off on March 27 in Greensboro, NC and ending on April 26 in Chula Vista, CA. The tour is being produced by Live Nation. The band is also set to release a brand new studio album in 2008 with details to be announced shortly. The album will see the band adding to their incredible legacy and promises the inclusion of a very special collaboration.

DEF LEPPARD's upcoming record will be called "Songs from the Sparkle Lounge", but no release date has been set for it. It will be their first album since last year's "Yeah!", which was a collection of covers of songs by artists who had influenced the band. Their most recent studio album of original material was 2002's "X".

Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus and Rascal Flatts are among the 21 artists slated to play the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo at Reliant Park from March 3-22.

The Rodeo has long been one of the premier live country music events in the country and has increasingly broadened into more diverse entertainment offerings. In addition to Cyrus, John Fogerty, John Legend and Fergie represent non-country acts booked into the Rodeo for 2008.

February 2008’s big events include Super Bowl XLII on Sunday, February 3rd at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

The annual NBA All Star Weekend, including the basketball's All-Star Game, Celebrity Game, Rookie Game and Slam Dunk Competition is scheduled for Feb 15-17 at the New Orleans Arena Center in Louisiana.

Other sporting events in February include UFC 81: Breaking Point, February 2nd at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las vegas, Nevada and the 2008 AMA Supercross Series hits Anaheim, San Diego, Houston, and Atlanta. The NFL’s Pro Bowl is scheduled for Sunday, February 10th at Aloha Stadium, Honolulu, Hawaii.
